Mystery Pipes in Nebraska City
What is the purpose of this pipe structure? It is on the North East Corner of 10th street and 1st Corso. It is mystery to me!
Many years ago, the city sold water for farmers and others that needed fresh drinking water…The farmer would back his tank under the spout and fill his tank….I remember, many years ago, that they had a coin operated timer that opened the spout and closed the spout by by time…So three minutes of water may costs a dime of some variation.
